Fast and dafuq did I just see?

I finally mustered all my courage and willpower and sat through.... uuunnngh... Fast & Furious 7.

You know, even before the movie came out and all I said "I'll watch it... one day I will", even thought I hated #6. So Now that I finally saw it, I want to comment on what I saw... But first lemme run you through about what I think on the previous 6 movies.

1.- Good. I mean, it's not like it's the best fucking movie ever, but come on, you have to admit that by the time it came out it was really innovative and flashy... I mean, the cars, the music and the whole racing/tuning culture... It was cool!
2.- Total crap! "Oh, so we made like a ton of money, let's make a completely over the top sequel!" Bullshit... The races where filled with really bad CGI. Crap.
3.- Decent. This movie ain't good, but at least it's entertaining. New characters, cool thing that Toretto made a cameo at the end.
4.- Well... I don't know... I mean... wasn't that good... But it was a different kind of movie, seemed more serious... unlike #2.
5- You're starting to piss me off... Why? Now it's a Ocean's Eleven on wheels movie. Shit like Tej is a hacker all of the sudden just because the plot needs a fucking hacker.
6.- Remember how #2 is, well, #2? This is worse. The whole tank sequence is well.... ok...

And finally we arrive at Furious 7; often stylized as Furious Seven and alternatively known as Fast Seven and Fast & Furious 7. Who many different names does a movie need?

So I'm watching the intro scene and there's Statham's character, Shaw, giving a nice speech to his on-a-coma-bro, who got fucked by Toretto and pals on the last movie. As he leaves the hospital we see a fucking war zone... About 20 men in S.W.A.T-like uniforms dead, evidence of explosions, 3 floors of mayhem and then Shaw just gets in his car a drives the fuck away... you know casual...

And that is what's fucking wrong with this movie.

If you tell me that fucking Luke Skywalker can deflect blaster shots with his lightsaber, I'll buy it. If you tell me that fucking Godzilla fucks up 2 fucking M.U.T.O.S., I'll buy it. If you tell me that Marty fucking McFly fucking gets on a fucking time machine built out of a fucking DeLorean and goes to 195-fucking-5, I'll fucking buy it! Why? 2 words: Science Fiction.
But when you tell me that a regular guy, just a guy, makes his way through about 20 men that seems to be S.W.A.T. or something, up 3 floors of a hospital just to give his on-a-coma-brother some speech and then walk out... you know casual... I'll call bullshit! Because a regular guy CAN'T DO THAT.

Let's ignore the fact that the movie takes you for a stupid in scenes like when the whole gang is chasing a bus.Now remember, this is a F&F movie, so all is happening really fast. ON the bus we have one of the characters and another one is just behind the bus on a really fast car. The bus loses control, and is going off a cliff...

So the while the bus is there hanging, Brian (Walker's character) walks to the front part, opens the door, jumps down, almost falls to his dead when the dead drivers fall through the door, climbs on the roof making the bus actually starts to fall, then runs the whole length of the bus, jumps and just when he realizes that he's not gonna make it, the other team member happens to drift on the edge of the cliff and saves Brian's ass...... My question is: Why does Brian has the time to do all that and THEN see the guy that was behind IF the other guy WAS just behind the bus at high speed... Why not make it "The guy drives close to the bus and helps Brian"?

Let's ignore that fact and focus on the following questions:
- Remember when The Hulk smashed the floor and made The Abomination fall through on "The Incredible Hulk"? Toretto pulls the same fucking shit... He stomps the floor, makes it fall and the bad guy falls through it.... Why is it that when The Hulk does it it's "over the top"?
- Remember when McClain used a car + improvised ramp to crash said car against a helicopter? Well Toretto does the same thing... Only he leaves a nice bag filled with grenades on the chopper. Why was it that on Die Hard it was absurd and here was cool?
- The drone in Mission Impossible 3 = over the top. Drone in Furious 7 = awesome... Why?

See my point?

By the end of the movie, a terrorist from Somalia goes to LA in a chopper to chase the good guys and he deploys a drone from said chopper. High caliber rounds and missiles (I counted 4 from the drone alone) all around LA. At this point I'm thinking that Marvel's fucking Avengers would show up, but no. The drone got taken out by Hobbs (Johnson's character) in a most peculiar way... The drone goes IN a tunnel and as it is coming out Hobbs DRIVES A FUCKING AMBULANCE OUT OF A ROAD.... and crushes the drone, hijacks it's minigun and goes on to find more bad guys.

He finds the chopper, shots at it with his looted minigun as Toretto does the trick described above. But the grenades do not go off... no... That would be too normal... Hobbs shots at them with a magnum.

The whole sequence lasts some 45 minutes. At some point someone said "The Military is inbound, ETA 3 minutes." but no one ever came. A friend did some research for me and Edward's Air base is about 100Km away from LA... And no one came. No radar saw the unidentified war helicopter. Even Michael fucking Bay is more careful when bullshitting people.

Oh and by the way, it's stupid that Tom Cruise learned the Way of The Sword over the course of a winter, right?.... But it's alright when these 2 guys do this?

Fuck
You

Very much.

The only good thing I can say about the movie is that just before the end credits there is a scene, more like a tribute to Paul Walker, It was actually really nice and well done. I mean I never really liked his acting and I never met the dude, but I have no reason to believe he was not a good guy, and that tribute was cool.

Verdict? It is a terrible movie. Terrible terrible movie. This movie is so evil that it bullies other, smaller movies. If the fate of the world rest on me having to watch it again... Well fuck, we're dead. Watching this movie should be considered a crime against humanity, right up there with torture because it is in fact torturous. "But Guaji, I liked it!" Yeah, and there's people that enjoy killing other people that doesn't make it right. "But Guaji, driving cars that fast and living that kind of life is my dream", Fuck you, Charles Manson was following his dream.

There. The End. And in case I run into a hater, I'll leave you with this song.

Where are we...? - Part III

This one's the last one! Tonight I finish this dreadful list.
And don't get me wrong, I love each and everyone here; it's just that writing this has been excruciatingly painful, you know? Thinking about all that happened before this point in my life, all that I have lost. And hey, the older you get the more stuff you have to give up, that's life. I'm not asking to do over everything I did ten years ago, what hurts is to know that everyone's so far apart, damn!

Technology helps, but like I said before, I wont be able to see my friend's kids grow! I won't get to be anyone's cool uncle! It's unlikely that I'll say shit like "When I was your age me and your father bull fought fucking cars!"

Anyway... On with it.

17- Luz Bacaicoa - Lucci
I met this chick when I was... What? 15? I remember fighting with her a lot a first but then she became such a great friend. She used to call me when I was in Caracas, I don't know if she just called to check on me or if she did it to cheer me up; but that gesture meant the world to me. It's been ages since I've spoken to her and it's not fair, I have to write her an email. I don't even know her child, for fuck sake!

18.- Jorge Leon - Geo
You'd think that best friends are the ones that never piss you off. Wrong. It's the ones that can get on your nerves and still be a brother after, those are the best kind. Why am I saying this? I punched this guy in the jaw once and then we became really good friends. This dude was another one from the High School gang. The only one to have witnessed what have come be known as "The Eyebrow Event" (my stupid cousin got drunk in Aruba and got his eyebrows shaven by some random guys, and this guy as was witness to that), and the source of most of my Music back then.

19.-Marina Nava - Nina
This chick was a pain in the ass really. You think Sheldon was just a fictional character? Well, wrong again, friend. But she is actually a great person willing to go all the way for her friends. Not everyone do that, and even if she can be really annoying and even if we've had our fights. Who the fuck cares? Nina was always there.

20.- Marysabel Gainza - Marysa
We all have that quirky friend. She was mine. To be quite honest I didn't know her like I wish I had, but I do remember talking her and joking about life. She used to have hand puppets made of paper, with names and histories and all... One of them died of a liver disease.

21.- Erlan Reverol - El Elfo
Our "goth" friend... He wasn't goth like, Norway goth, but he was as close as it gets. Countless hours playing Table Top RPGs and countless more planning shit that never took place! The only bad thing about him is that, OF ALL THE COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD... He moved to China. He probably doesn't know but while playing with him I discovered A LOT about myself, and I appreciate that more than anything he could have ever done, or could ever do.

22.- Ana Valentina Chavez - Honey
She is the only one on earth that can get info out of me that easily, that is an accomplishment. When I met her she was just the friend of the sister of my friend's girlfriend; and although I remember seeing her as the most interesting of the bunch of people that was forced in my life at the moment, still I never did shit to get in contact with her. Years passed, and our relationship changed from one thing to the other. We've been through a lot and that made me grow up a lot, although no matter the age or whatever she's always gonna be bigger than me in a lot of ways.

23&24.- Rafael Polanco and Victoria Guerra - Napo y Vicky
The Glam General himself! We're talking about a guy that missed a weekend long road trip of pure rock, because he'd be tired afterwards. But come on, if he had not done it, I wouldn't have gotten the chance to make fun of him XD This guy's pretty hardcore none the less, he have made the choice to leave twice, I can imagine that's an easy feat. And his lovely girl, Vicks whom I came to love like crazy! It's not easy to find someone with a sense of humor that remotely like mine and such great taste in movies. Lovely pair of human beings.

25.- Ruth Ramirez - ruTH
There a little thing about her last name and another really big thing about her that kept the laughs going forever. But hey, if you wanna met an 8 years old girl trapped in a woman's body, you've got to meet ruTH; she can get a smile out of you without even thinking about it. One of the sweetest  persons I know.

26.- Maurizio Dikdan - Mau
Mau was this quiet guy at Vicky's place, and it turns out that he is El Elfo's cousin! I never got to know that much of him, but having a talk with him was always interesting. He is one of these guys that tries to find the logic in everything, much like myself. Maybe that's why I immediately knew we'd get along.

27.- Isabel Faccini - Isa
This girl is wise beyond her age, albeit a little biased in her opinions by her own beliefs; which are not bad or wrong in any fucking way! It's just that sometimes I found myself having a hard time trying to make her see that I was in agreement with her, lol. Also, I have a fame of being very difficult to be left speechless while I'm are joking around, I always have a comeback line. But she always found a way of making me say "You win this time".

28&29.- Cesar Rojas and Luis Aparicio - Mis Senpai
These two taught me Japanese even if for a brief time. Luis, I didn't know that much but, based on musical taste alone, I bet we could have been really good friends. And Cesar, what he went through just before leaving the country... It would have destroyed me, and you too. It takes a really big pair of cojones to pull what he pulled. Truly an admirable person.

30.- Diego Rangel - Diegoncio!
The Calva that keeps on giving, another one of my metal heads. This guy saw Iron fucking Maiden with me, we gamed together, we role played together. Truly my brother from a different mother. He was a funny guy, and I am told I am too... But when we got together, and drank together, we were fucking annoying! Who else remembers "Cher" or "Who is Noel Gallagher?" XD

31.- Lorvelis Madueño - Roru
This little birdie flew away just when I was staring to really know her. Being at her farewell party organized by her Japanese Study group was one of the most emotional scenes I've ever seen. You just don't make people behave like that and feel like that unless you're truly something. And you ARE truly something.

32.- Pamela Mrvaljevic - Pame
In Diablo III the Demon Hunter uses Hatred to fuel skills and shouts "VENGEANCE!!" while killing hordes of hell spawns. Well, Pam goes "Pew Pew Pew!" while playing with her Demon Hunter. And you know what? If anyone else does it it'd be annoying, but if you have a problem with her going "Pew Pew Pew!" then fuck you. Now seriously, she gave the best piece of advice ever, and she taught me how to say "Mojon de Pantera" in Croatian. Great person.

33.- Luis Miguel Delgado - Luismi
M'lord Derp was the friend of a friend until we gamed together. There are two ways of truly knowing someone: 1.- Fight that person. 2.- Game with that person. Granted, he can be a bit annoying sometimes, but in his case it comes from being a guy with a certain set of convictions, and he stands by them. Gotta respect that.

34.- Carlos Reyes - El Comic!
This dude I never got to know really well, but he's always been there, you know? Like, from a distance, but there. A very loyal friend with the weirdest sense of humor and the craziest art skills.

35.- Patricia Sanchez - PatS
This girl right here was the only one that we could talk for hours about football! You know what was a bit fucked? We are such football fans that at some point the girls were all pissed at us for talking so much about the damned thing... Except for PatS! She's the sweetest little kid, and I never got to play football against her, but I bet she's way better than me.

36.- Michelangelo Partipilo - Mike
Mike was a kind of mystery to me, because I was kind of afraid of him. He had a certain reputation on IRC, so I always tried to keep my distance; but when I got back to Maracaibo turns out that he was friends with Nina... Then I found out that all the rumors were true. But he's a nice guy, he wont fuck you up unless you give him reason. He was always smiling.

37,38 and 39.- The Guzman Brothers - Catire, Rafa y El Ball.
They are my cousins. The youngest was like 10 years older than me. Now, I've never like being compared to any fucking one, and my dad used to do that a lot. But when he compared me to these guys, it felt only right you know? If you're gonna have a role model in your life you might as well pick one of these 3 guys, because they truly are examples to follow.

40.- Maria Valentina Cadenas - MaVa
This girl's Diablo. In the good way! She's really acid, her sense of humor's like... well... really acid! But at the same time she's the sweetest most awesome girl you'll meet. Fun to be around, always with a bright smile. She's coming here at the end of the month and I am actually really looking forward to hanging out with her, even if for just a few minutes.

41.- Roberto Arenas - El Bobert
This guy was really shy, but he was a real trooper. I've known him since I was on the 3rd grade and up until he left we used to meet a lot either at Lalo's or at Machorro's. He never really said a lot, but when he did speak, it was always something worth being told, although sometimes it was just bad jokes.

42.- Martin Lee - El Chino
This dude was my lucky charm in every School yard fight XD He was really huge, we used to say that on hot days you could get a nice shade from him to hide from the scorching sun. Plus he did Tae Kwon Do... So yeah... We were safe! I remember playing hockey with this dude was painful, but you're not hardcore unless you live hardcore.

43.- Davide Di Turo - Tankerman
Another one of the head banger, although this guy was more numetal than the rest of us. This dude was really nice to hang out with, always! If I wanted do something stupid there was only so many people I could count on! And this dude was one of them.

44.- Carlos Storms - Dad
Last but not least, this dude. He's a bit older than me... And you remember how I said Yoka was kind of my mom? Well this dude got together with her, and kind of took very seriously the "So you're new dad?" joke. Seriously, this dude advised me, talked with me about serious shit, he even taught me how to drink! I mean, I had already drank before meeting him; but the way I drink right now, it's all because of my conversations with him, while having a drink of course.

No pretty ending, I'm tired.

Where are we...? - Part II

So here we are, once again, on this long and though list.
Like I said on the last post I was gonna say a few word about those people closest to me that had to go. Here they are.

1.- Michelle Blanco - The St00pid
Of course I was gonna start with her. She's a friend from my time in Caracas. Without her I might have not made it this far.

2&3.- Angelica and Viviana Guimera - Yoka y Vivi
Two sisters that I met while still in High School. Why? Machorro's fault.
I called Yoka "Mom" once and then it kind of stuck; she acted like my mom and all, 'twas fun. And Vivi, being her sister, was, well, my cool aunt Vivi. No one ever spelled their last name right.
They were on of the first batch that left.

3.-Eduardo Rivero - Lalo
This guy was probably the only one in my group of friends from High School that was not loud. I remember all of us going to his place every weekend, play video games, watch movies and just be stupid all together. A really noble soul and a great friend.

4.- Humberto Gutierrez - El Machorro
Well what can I say? This guy's like a brother to me. When I was not at Lalo's I was at Machorro's, probably thinking about what prank to pull on who. As we grew older this was the place to drink on the weekends. And let's not forget about Woodstock! That dog partied hard with us.

5,6 and 7.- The Llorente Sisters - Cristi, Vigi y Sylvia
Sylvia and the Twins. Sylvia was the first new friend I made when I came back from Caracas, she was so nice! I have to admit, it felt a bit weird after taking so much crap from so many people to meet someone as fucking awesome as she is. And the Twins? They are 2 of the sweetest girls I've met in my life what a great pair, Top Class human beings. Vigi was always more of an alof kind of girl, and Cristi used to prank her poor sister. It was hilarious.

8&9.- Hector Partidas and Olgineth Salvetti - Majin Boo y Olgi
This dude was like Gandalf back in College. The wise one who everyone listened to, but the fact that he was just a bit older (some 5 years older maybe?) and partied with us made him seem more awesome, because no one likes a wiseass adult; but he wasn't one, he one of us... and his wife, Olgi? I'm an atheist and I ask for her blessing every time I get the chance, that's how fucking awesome she is. Best mom ever. Oh, and by the way, there should be more numbers here as well, because they left with their baby girl Alejandra (AKA La Pochi!) and now they have another kid, and it's a fucking shame I wont get to see them grow.

10.- Franklin Guglietta - El Donero
This guy... What can I say about this guy? At first I wanted to kick his ass for liking D&D 3E, but it turns out that he's one of the nobles souls I've met. He's been through a lot and came out on top every fucking time, how metal is that? Also part of my metal heads gang.

11&12.- Christian Nava and Lizeth Arias - El Quincy Y Lizzi
You know what I miss about him the most? His endless flow of bad jokes and puns. Only he would laugh at them, but he said in a way that well... I miss his bad jokes and playing video games with him and role playing and all that crap. An Liz? To be completely honest I didn't care much for her at the beginning because she's very quiet and she was just my friend's girlfriend, but then you get to meet her and you see that she's just as awesome as anyone else here. She's not here just because she's Christian's wife, she's here because she is a friend.

13.- Esteban Dominguez - Cristo!
This dude was a walking joke. His nickname came from a time when he wore his hair long and sported a kick ass beard.... Looked just like Jesus... Yes, THE Jesus. Once his mom went away, people went to party at his place and cleaned everything up 3 days later.... sound familiar? Huh? HUH!?.

14.- Karol Romero - Karito
Nothing I type here could describe how awesome this woman is, you'd have to meet her for yourselves. But she is the best human being ever to walk the earth. Awesome feelings and perspectives. The only bad thing about her is that there is just one of her; there should be more "Karols"... That way at least the world would be more glittery.

15&16.- Francisco Garcia and Flor Ferrer - Fran y Flor
These two have been together for as long as I can remember. Fran was a friend from High School, but I've known him since forever because our dads kind of worked together. When I try to recall shit from back then there's just one guy who is constant in all of those jokes and stories: Fran. Except for just one, I'll get to that later on the list. And Flor? There's 2 kinds of Christians in this world: the ones that say they are and the ones that ACT like they are. She belongs to the later and I admire that in her. Awesome, smart and beautiful woman... Seriously, Fran, look at you wife, drop a few pounds dude. Their lovely kid, whom I met recently, is another nephew I will not get to see grow up. Such a shame.

Well, I'm gonna wrap it up for now, and finish the list the next time, because... well... One long post at the time, right? Anyway, stay tuned for more.

Mjuzik? Well... It IS friday.. So....

Where are we...? - Part I

For those readers outside my circle of friends, I am a Venezuelan dude, still living in Venezuela. Why? Well, I've been postponing my departure in the hopes that something will change. Stupid? Maybe, but I've done quite a lot trying to force a change and honestly I'd hate to see it go to waste. Plus I got to live here BEFORE the actual process, so I remember that "here" used to be a pretty fun place to be.... Maybe not the best, but what's wrong about loving the place you grew up?... Although this is no longer the place I grew up in. They took that away from me.

Anyhow...
The other day a friend asked me "If I was a millionaire, what would you ask of me? But it can't be something you can posses." I said that I would like to see all my friends again. That night I went to bed thinking of them, all of them, and the number of friends outside my country overwhelmed me. Never before I counted them all at once. And now one of them made a comment on a picture that was taken... 2007... maybe?

Not 2 people are on the same place now.

All the feels.

So I'm gonna make a of list of everyone that has gone and, later, on another post,  I'm gonna say a few words about each one of you. Because you're my friends and you deserve it. This is gonna be tough, and long.

Tuesday, 11 August 2015

Yep, Her...

We all have our past.
Most of my friends know that I have mine, that it was not very pleasant and that, it marked my personality deeply and evidently. The important thing is to know how to deal with that and not allow that to have an influence on our daily life and in the relations with the aforementioned friends.

Or you can let it control you and fuck things all over for you.

"What do you mean, Guaji?" If I let my past experiences to rule my day to day life, I wouldn't have met anyone since september 2002. It would have been "better" like that, that would have spared me of a lot of uncomfortable situations in the last 13 years. But I would have missed the chance to know truly brutal people and to have experienced brutal shit.

Hey, I'm not a perfect guy and sometimes I screw up... Note that by "sometimes" I mean not every time. Why am I making an emphasis on that? Because I'm the guy that tries to do things the right way. If I fuck up... no no.. WHEN I fuck up, because I do fuck up sometimes, I accept it, I confront the situation and try to learn from it, so that it doesn't fuck me up in the future and so that it doesn't fuck up the people I care about.... You know, like civilized people and shit... Not the other way around?

"What do you mean "the other way around", Guaji? Like, if I know a nice girl and we talk and shit, we meet a couple of times and then a couple of weeks go by without knowing from her... Should I come over to her place and wish her a happy life together with my only friend and let her know how happy I am that she has someone by her side? Like that? Or should I be more clear?"

That's fine, thank you.

What's my point? No one, no one new that is, is to blame for the cards we've been dealt in the past and thus there is no justifiable reason that'd make it ok for us to have to deal with bullshit and tantrums from people, specially if the reason behind that bullshit and tantrums is shit we are not to blame for! You HAVE to do things the right way.Recently I was placed in an uncomfortable situation and when I saw that it was starting to affect things the bad way I called the person involved to stop things from getting any worse. We talked, and it was not the smoothest talk I've had with someone, but we figured shit out. And little by little we've been fixing things, and we'll keep fixing them because that's what's right.

If you fuck up, and then you come to me all "Fuck, man, look... Umm, there's this going on and THIS other thing happend a couple of years back, but I don't want this to affect our friendship man, it's just that sometimes it's just too hard and shit and fuck and stuff...." ... That is one thing, I would at least try to understand. But if you fuck up and you come to me and say "Well, fuck it. It wont happen again..." and then it happens again... and again!... HOW THE FUCK DO YOU EXPECT ME TO REACT? I have a lot of patience, but eventually it will run out.

Moral? Stop watching Frozen and check this beauty here. Try and guess where it's from:

A: What was that?! The weather, very peculiar, don't you think?
B: Yeah... Looks like the winds are changing.
A: Ah! Change is good.
B: But it's not easy! I know what I have to do. But going back means I'll have to face my past. I've been running from it for so long.
[A hits B on the head with his stick]
B: Ow! Jeez, what was that for?
A: It doesn't matter. It's in the past. Jajaja
B: Yeah, but it still hurts.
A: Oh yes, the past can hurt. But from the way I see it, you can either run from it, or... learn from it.
[A swings his stick again at B, who ducks out of the way]

I hate to start the blog like this, but... Given the circumstances...
Lyrics? Nah! That's too 2006. Let's close with videos now.

Introduction Post

Unlikely to to see me here, says you?
Rather unexpected, perhaps?
Of course it is, I've not blogged in ages. But here I am.

"More of the same stuff" you ask?
"Are there any other things to write about?" is my answer.
Don't get me wrong, I plan to make this interesting.
